Our Story
Despite not knowing each other before, there was a sense of inevitability, like Thanos. Amos's handsome mug caught Melissa's eye, and Melissa's use of complete sentences caught Amos's attention. There was no denying they hit it off at the start, clearly enamoured with each other.
Their love for traveling (luxury+planned vs. backpacker+looselyplanned) and dancing (pole vs. liketowatchpeopledance) were similar yet different, and the differences complimented and brought fuller experiences together.
The additions of Moki and Cerberus has been life changing, greeting them everyday at the door, increasing their bond as a family and the start of fulfilling Melissa's dream of having 7 dogs (at the same time). Another dream of Melissa's was to see the Northern Lights and to get a certain question asked under them.
Melissa hinted to Amos that the odds were in their favour to witness the Aurora Borealis in the upcoming year. Still, some things can’t be engineered no matter how meticulous the plan. The lights, like the right person at the right time, don’t arrive on command. They appear when they’re ready and when you are, too.
There were hiccups: clouds playing defense like Wembanyama, the moon setting a pick you never saw coming, and solar winds not blowing hard enough like Lance Stephenson. But then the sky opened up, and a sliver of green shone in the night sky. In that instant, it didn’t feel like luck, it was destiny.
In that magical atmosphere, where the celestial colours swirl and dance, one can truly feel the threads of fate. Amos set up his phone to record this moment (he unfortunately pointed the camera at the sky) and asked the question. The lights said yes first. Melissa followed. Some moments are rare, some are magical, and a few like this one feel as obvious as getting blue shelled in MarioKart: inevitable.
